“My week at camp has helped me build my self confidence and being able to be around lots of different people. At camp I have learnt to build stronger friendships/relationships, especially with my sister. We have learnt trust, communication, co-operation, facing fears and self belief. My favourite things about Camp Kulin are meeting new people, making new friends, having to trust strangers and going home and knowing that I believe in myself.”
“My week at camp has been good! I have learnt to treat others the way you want to be treated, being good, teamwork, being good at sports, making new friends, having fun at everything, being a good team player, communication, being nice, being good at trust, being friendly to others, not saying bad things to others, and don’t talk back to your mum and dad.”
“I miss everyone from camp. I had the best week of my life at Camp Kulin. The camp was life changing. I still can’t believe how Tanya and her counsellors changed my life and the lives of all the other campers in a week. I’m a better person now I’ve learnt to respect others and trust others and communicate with other people. I thank Tanya so much for changing my life and making me a better person.”
“I sent to you a very reluctant, shy, quiet girl with very little self esteem, and you sent me back a VERY confident young lady ready to take on the world!! The difference in my daughter is amazing and I truly believe that the work of your team has been a life changing influence on her. We look forward to being part of many more Camp Kulin events.”
“What I liked about the people at Camp Kulin was they were nice, kind, respectful, friendly, unforgettable and positive. Some things I learnt at camp were to be brave, face your fears, don’t ever give up, treat others the way you want to be treated, be cool, don’t be afraid to ask questions, making friends, speaking up and getting along with people. I want to come to Camp Kulin again as a camper, then become a camp counsellor.”
“It gives the kids hope to know that people care, and that if you think something is impossible you can give it a go and succeed. The memories made will last a lifetime.”
“My week has been hard to trust people, but by the end of the week I learnt that you should just trust in yourself and others. At camp I have learnt to face my fears and have self belief. My favourite things about camp are making new friends, the camp counsellors and believing in myself.”
“Camp Kulin has changed my life. It’s given me a passion and a purpose. I love seeing the smile on the children’s faces, it’s the best reward there is to know you have changed a child’s life and they will remember it forever”
“My unforgettable week has been a journey filled with so much educational fun and touching memories that will never ever leave me no matter what stage I go through. Your kindness and gratitude have helped me with incredible life-helping skills that I will acknowledge and will take on out of camp and into Perth and hopefully other areas. My favourite activity was gaga. What I learnt at Camp Kulin was trust, respect, patience and co-operation. Thank you very much, you have changed a boy’s life.”
“A great camp! My son had a blast and can’t wait for the next camp! Just watched the video and it made me cry, was great to see all the kids having fun. He is still talking about what he did at camp, will definitely let him go again, he came home a new kid!”
