This four night/five day program run during school holidays has been specially designed to teach leadership, respect, self confidence, teamwork, communication skills, trust and self esteem.
Campers will be challenged through a series of activities, achieving things they never thought possible, and sending them home with a sense of accomplishment.
Our scholarship program is specifically for children who have been affected by childhood trauma. Places at this camp are funded by generous sponsors who take part in our Sponsor a Child program.
To be eligible to attend a scholarship camp, campers must be referred by a case worker. Our camp manager conducts extensive interviews and discussions with each case worker prior to the child’s time at camp to ensure their needs are met and they are matched with the right camper group and camp counsellor. Following the child’s time at camp, we provide reports back to their case workers and keep in regular contact to track their progress.
We have a minimum 1:3 ratio of camp counsellor to campers to ensure that every child gets the most out of their Camp Kulin experience.
Our current scholarship camp referral providers include ASeTTS (Association for Services to Torture and Trauma Survivors), WA Police, Department for Child Protection, Department of Corrective Services, Disability Services Commission, Rural Community Support Service, Central AgCare, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, youth workers, case workers and schools.
While at camp, our scholarship campers have the opportunity to take part in a number of activities, including:
